Time for the next release from the Culprit guys. Thins one’s for Birmingham’s Subb-an. If I had to classify the song, I’d call it a deep Chicago house banger with some tech, and some jack. Really nice. The inspiration for the album art, then, was the style of old school Chicago house fliers from the early 90’s. Raw imagery, handmade pastsing and hand set type, and rough textures. From there, the program was to modernize the aesthetic while holding on to some of the older visual cues. So photographs got layered over paper textures, with more photographic and handrawn elements over that. In the end it turned out to be a little more polished than rough, but I think it matches the track, which is also a melange of old and new styles.
